We Are Released Records
Born in Leeds and rooted in the dancefloor, Released Records is an independent record shop specialising in electronic music — soul, funk, house, techno, hip hop, garage, trance, and everything in between. We exist for the music lovers, the diggers, the dancers, people who still care about music.
Our Story
Released Records grew out of a deep love for Leeds and its music scene. We set up the label first 2015, then 2019 a shop in the iconic Leeds Corn Exchange — one of the city's most beloved landmarks — because we wanted to be at the heart of things. The Corn Exchange where independent spirit thrives, and that felt right for us.
The Leeds Electronic Music Scene
Leeds has one of the most vibrant and diverse underground music scenes in the UK, and we're proud to be part of it. From the warehouse raves of the 90s to today's thriving club nights and DIY venues, this city has always had its finger on the pulse. Released Records is our way of keeping that energy alive — curating records that reflect the full spectrum of electronic music culture, past and present.
Released Label
Beyond the shop floor, Released runs its own record label releasing electronica and Co runs dance music label Working Classics.
Our current roster includes:
- Wulls — dub and trip hop laced with breakbeat influences, heavy and hypnotic.
- Chris Dawkins — We continue the legacy of Leeds music legend Chris. Soul and jazz filtered through trip hop and dub, warm and deeply felt.
We believe in artists who have something to say, and we're committed to helping them say it.
